we had some boring & dirty blinds hanging in our kitchen for a long time. today their time came to an end.

i am someone who is terrible at following instructions & i really prefer to just freehand things. i often sew stuff that falls apart and looks a smidge dodgy. that said, i have to say that i am very happy i followed some lined curtain making instructions that a nice lady put on the internet.

they involved cutting some fabric, both the curtain fabric and some muslin lining:


folding, ironing, and then sewing some finished edges:

and then digging up some old tension rods & tossing them in the windows:
